As I have said repeatably, Ultimately the current USDA/FDA inspection process must be revamped in order to prevent food borne illnesses in fresh produce.
It is my belief that educating the consumer through various media outlets is one way to provide awareness and the way to go. Most consumers have no idea just how outdated the current system is and how its designed to protect the industry and not the consumer. Its really appalling. I also think when consumers become educated on the facts, those responsible will listen.
